Break Away offers activities that focus on quantifiable vocabulary acquisition and incorporate an innovative approach to differentiation. Students learn the words they need by repeating them in oral interaction, reading and writing.
Ensure quantifiable vocabulary acquisition
Approximately 50 new words are presented and reinforced in each unit and the related workshops, for a total of 300 high-frequency words each year.
Build lessons around constructive and meaningful reading and listening activities
Each unit includes two reading texts and one listening/watching text. In addition, the online exercises offer a fourth text reflecting the unit theme and vocabulary, which can be used for either reading or listening. Comprehension exercises before and after the texts complete the reading or listening activity.
Get differentiated reading, listening and watching activities for an optimal learning experience
Colour-coded tasks within the reading, listening and watching activities provide extra support for lower-level students and enrichment for advanced students, without stigmatizing either group.

This new 64-page edition comes in full colour and offers everything students need to practise, review and apply the notions covered in the Activity Book. The booklet also presents additional rules and provides mixed-practice activities to encourage grammatical usage.
The series includes the Activity Book, the Grammar Booklet and the digital version of the Activity Book, along with complementary activities in the online exercises. The online exercises component is also ideal for teachers who wish to complement their own material with extra reading/listening practice and more grammar exercises.
