Proofreader – K-12

Occasionally, we need proofreaders for printed and digital educational materials in many domains. Once you submit your CV, you will appear in the human resources database, which is consulted regularly by our staff to meet their proofreading needs.

General responsibilities

Under the project editor, you will ensure that the typography follows writing rules and other editorial norms. You will also monitor the quality of marketing tools and materials to be published (uniformity and coherence of proofs).
More specifically, you will:

  • Monitor the quality of texts
  • Correct errors
  • Respect the given deadlines
  • Respect design uniformity
  • Meet graphic standards

Desired skills

  • Undergraduate education in a relevant field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in proofreading of training manuals, educational texts, textbook proofs or other relevant areas
  • Thoroughness
  • Excellent mastery of written English
  • Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style and Canadian spelling
  • Good writing and editing skills
  • Mastery of general software (MS Office suite, Acrobat DC)
  • Knowledge of MEES programs an asset
